Get out and get active with Active Alfie!

Active Alfie is currently looking for people to take part in the 2009 JCI Ireland Active Citizenship week, which starts on Sunday October 18th next. He is looking for people who know the importance of Active Citizenship and who want to help make their local communities better places to live.

Last year’s very successful Active Citizenship week, saw people from all around Ireland cleaning parks, voting in elections and volunteering to help local charities. Active Alfie and JCI Ireland are encouraging people from all around Ireland to start thinking about what they are going to do to benefit their local community during the week of October 18th. Log on to  http://www.fifty-ways.com and pledge to become a more active citizen.

All you have to do is agree to do at least one of his ‘Fifty Ways to Active Citizenship’. From planting flowers in a public area, to giving blood or donating unwanted books to your local library, there are lots of ways to get involved.

When asked what can we do to help make this year’s Active Citizenship week a success, Active Alfie said “I need people from all around the country to contact Junior Chamber International on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
